Bourg, near Bordeaux, France

Bordeaux, the picturesque port of Port of Bourg in Haut Medoc is one of the hidden gems of the Bordeaux region, attacked by Vikings, it retains today strong connections to England, the U S A, The Netherlands and Germany.
For many centuries Bourg was a ‘quay port’ in the renowned wine region of Haut Medoc, raided by Vikings, and with strong connections to England, the USA, The Netherlands and Germany.

Gaillac 1863 [pronounced guy’ack] in south West France.
"Port of Gaillac 1863", 200 x 100 cm (78½" x 39½"), Commissioned as a foyer centre piece for the Museum 'inVINcible VIGNEron'.
The port of Gaillac, when the port was at the height of its commercial prowess, before the railway link opened in 1864.
Commissioned by and sold to the Museum ‘inVINcible VIGNEron‘ now a foyer centerpiece, the museum is at Tres Cantons, Montels, near Gaillac, Tarn (81) department. “Bordeaux has it’s famous ‘port paintings’, now at last Gaillac has it’s port painting”, Alain Soreano, author, historian [December 2016].

A very unusual painting after an invitation from Captain S.R. Sanderson who was interested in painting and First officer G. Sharp to join them and create an impression as they landed Boeing 727 G-BJCU.
Painting thanks to the captain inviting me to join him in the cockpit during the landing.
