I was looking to see how much colour I could find on a seemingly drab grey brown February day.

A solid oak built fishing boat, Hooe Lake, Plymouth, gently reverting to nature among the ribs of far older working boats.
Painted on a cold February; I was well wrapped in thermal underwear, jeans, sea jersey topped with my red marine waterproofs.
I was inspired by a new understanding, very personal, of colour perception which I’d developed while studying at The Painting School of Montmiral.
