Gordon Frickers is one of the very few artists invited to created a one man show of (35) paintings (May 2011) at the European Parliament, Brussels.
The Painting
Henk van der Hoef as a practical seaman and marine engineer who among other things built the new Dubai harbour, appreciated nothing beats on site experience so he flew me to the ship yard in the Netherlands to Lelystad to see the building of the replica of the “Zeven Provinciën“.
I was able to discuss the “Zeven Provinciën” in detail with the staff including the then master shipwright of this project, Willum Voss.
During May 2011 I returned to the Lelystad yard to review the project progress.
